Fixed Mindset?

A ‘Fixed Mindset’ happens when people believe that the results they achieve are attributed to their natural talents and abilities. In such circumstances, when mistakes occur, they attribute these mistakes to a lack of their own ability. This negatively affects their personal status, which creates a powerful emotional defensive reaction that guides their decision-making. The types of decisions they make are to avoid situations where they may make mistakes, or where their mistakes might be highlighted, especially by others. They make the decision to avoid challenging situations that could result in mistakes. They make the decision to avoid constructive feedback from others that could highlight mistakes. The way that Group I was treated by their teachers triggered this type of Fixed Mindset decision-making.
